The movie "Patton" was one of the worst offenders, M47s in Panzer grey or tan... and I was like ten and I noticed this! "Battle of the Bulge" used those too. "A Bridge Too Far" made a fairly credible attempt, using a Leopard and the attack over the bridge was good.
The give-away I realized eventually in "KH" was the suspension and bow fenders!
